Days of Noah - Scripture Mapping
[INTRO]
Hammer falls, I don’t slow
(Ecclesiastes 9:10) - “Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might.” Wholehearted labor in obedience.
Let ’em laugh, I still go
(2 Peter 3:3–4) - “Scoffers will come… saying, ‘Where is this … he promised?’” Obedience continues despite ridicule.
Board by board and nail by nail
(Genesis 6:22) - “Noah did everything just as God commanded him.” Step-by-step obedience.
Built on a word that will not fail
(Isaiah 55:11) - “My word… will not return to me empty.” God’s word accomplishes what He sends it to do.
[VERSE 1]
Clear blue sky, no rain in sight
(Hebrews 11:7) - “About things not yet seen.” Noah obeyed before visible evidence appeared.
Still I work day and night
(Colossians 3:23) - “Work at it with all your heart.” Persistent labor done for the Lord.
Voices say I’ve lost my mind
(1 Corinthians 1:18) - “The message of the cross is foolishness…” Faithful obedience can look foolish to the world.
Chasing storms they can’t find
(2 Peter 2:5) - “Noah, a preacher of righteousness.” Noah warned of what others dismissed.
But I heard it cut through their ruse
(John 10:27) - “My sheep listen to my voice.” God’s voice cuts through deception and noise.
Build it now, don’t wait for proof
(2 Corinthians 5:7) - “We live by faith, not by sight.” Obedience does not wait for visible confirmation.
So I laid each beam in fear
(Hebrews 11:7) - “In holy fear built an ark.” Reverent fear moved Noah to obey.
Trusting rain I couldn’t hear
(Hebrews 11:1) - “Confidence in what we hope for.” Faith trusts what has not yet arrived.
[PRE-CHORUS]
No sign above
(Matthew 12:39) - “A wicked and adulterous generation asks for a sign.” Endless sign-seeking can become delayed obedience.
Still I trust
(Proverbs 3:5) - “Trust in the Lord with all your heart.” Trust stands when understanding is incomplete.
Every word is enough
(Psalm 119:160) - “All your words are true.” God’s word is sufficient and trustworthy.
[CHORUS]
Days of Noah, I’m still building
(Matthew 24:37) - “As it was in the days of Noah…” The Noah pattern repeats: faithfulness amid disbelief.
Faith in the flood before it’s rising
(Hebrews 11:1) - “Assurance about what we do not see.” Faith believes before the evidence arrives.
When that thunder shakes the ground
(Psalm 18:7) - “The earth trembled and quaked.” God’s power shakes what seemed stable.
I stand on what You spoke out loud
(Isaiah 40:8) - “The word of our God will stand forever.” God’s word remains unshaken and enduring.
Days of Noah, I won’t run
(Genesis 6:22) - “Noah did everything…” Noah stayed faithful to the command.
Even if I’m the only one
(Genesis 7:1) - “I have found you righteous in this generation.” Noah stood apart in a corrupt generation.
If the storm is where You lead
(Psalm 143:10) - “May your good Spirit lead me.” Faith follows God even into hardship.
Then let it rain, I will believe
(Job 13:15) - “Though he slay me, yet will I hope in him.” Trust remains when obedience leads into suffering.
[VERSE 2]
Same old lies in a new disguise
(John 8:44) - “He is a liar and the father of lies.” Deception changes form, but not its source.
“Play it safe, don’t risk your life”
(Job 2:9) - “Curse God and die!” Worldly counsel urges escape from suffering instead of faithful endurance.
But there’s a fire in your core
(Jeremiah 20:9) - “His word is in my heart like a fire.” God’s call burns too deeply to bury.
Knocking loud – you can’t ignore
(Revelation 3:20) - “I stand at the door and knock.” God persistently confronts and calls the heart.
Got that call buried in your chest
(Jeremiah 20:9) - “His word is in my heart like a fire.” God’s calling presses within and cannot stay buried.
Keep pushing it down, but it won’t rest
(Jonah 1:3) - “Jonah ran away from the Lord.” Running from God’s calling does not silence it.
Saying, “I’ll wait just one more sign…”
(Matthew 12:39) - “A wicked and adulterous generation asks for a sign.” Delayed obedience can hide behind confirmation-seeking.
Long nights praying the sun will rise
(Matthew 24:42–44) - “You do not know on what day your Lord will come.” Living watchful and hoping for another day to answer God’s call.
[Bridge]
You feel it now
(Romans 13:11) - “The hour has already come for you to wake from your slumber.” A growing urgency to respond to God’s calling.
Don’t back down
(Hebrews 10:39) - “We do not belong to those who shrink back…” Faith stands firm instead of retreating from the calling.
That call is in you loud
(1 Corinthians 9:16) - “Woe to me if I do not preach the gospel!” The call to proclaim Christ becomes impossible to ignore.
[VERSE 3]
What if Noah stopped halfway?
(Genesis 6:22) - “Noah did everything just as God commanded him.” The lesson is completed obedience, not partial obedience.
What if fear had won that day
(2 Timothy 1:7) - “God has not given us a spirit of fear.” Fear is not meant to rule the calling.
What if he just walked away
(Luke 9:62) - “No one who… looks back is fit for service.” God’s call requires perseverance.
And let the promise fade
(Esther 4:14) - “Relief and deliverance… will arise from another place.” God’s purpose will continue, but the opportunity can pass to someone else.
What’s the ark you’re called to build
(Ephesians 2:10) - “Created in Christ Jesus to do good works.” The Noah story becomes a personal call to obedience.
Why you standing still
(James 1:22) - “Do not merely listen… Do what it says.” Faith must move into action.
You keep asking for a sign
(Matthew 16:4) - “A wicked and adulterous generation looks for a sign.” Seeking signs can become a refusal to obey.
He already told you why
(Habakkuk 2:2–3) - “Write down the revelation… it will certainly come.” When God gives vision, obedience should follow.
[FINAL CHORUS]
Days of Noah, it’s right now
(Romans 13:11) - “The hour has already come… to wake up.” The call is present, not distant.
You hear the call, you feel it loud
(1 Corinthians 9:16) - “Woe to me if I do not preach the gospel!” The call to proclaim Christ becomes impossible to ignore.
When the pressure hits your chest
(Jeremiah 23:29) - “Is not my word like fire… and like a hammer?” God’s word presses, breaks, and confronts with force.
Will you rise or second guess
(James 1:6–8) - “The one who doubts is like a wave of the sea.” Double-mindedness falters under pressure.
Days of Noah, take your stand
(Ephesians 6:13) - “After you have done everything, to stand.” Faith stands firm in the day of testing.
Not by sight but by His hand
(2 Corinthians 5:7) - “We live by faith, not by sight.” The path is held by God, not by visible certainty.
If the storm is where He leads
(Isaiah 43:2) - “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you.” God remains present in the flood.
Start building - days of Noah
(James 1:22) - “Do what it says.” The answer to God’s word is obedient action.
[OUTRO]
Rain don’t wait
(Genesis 7:11) - “The floodgates of the heavens were opened and the rain fell...” The flood arrived at the appointed time.
Build before it’s too late
(Genesis 7:16) - “Then the Lord shut him in.” Obedience has a window.
